Hi there and welcome to Chill Out Spaces we sure are glad you dropped by.

Life is too short to be tense and unhappy. 

So take a deep breath, yes right now, sigh deeply, fill your body relaxing and letting go of any tension it may be holding.  One more deep breath and as you breath out say let go and sigh again.  Now that feels a little better doesn't it.

One of the vital ingredients for a less stressful life is a relaxed mind.  However in our society we do not value and teach people how to relax their mind.  As a result we have doctors rooms filled with patients with stress related illness, we are turning more and more to alcohol, drugs, over eating, our relationships are poor, as a nation we are becoming more obese.  All these things can be helped by simply learning to relax more.

I know that sounds way to simple but think about this for a moment.  Think about getting up in the morning after a poor nights sleep, you tossed and turned another day, you are mentally tired and your body has those small aches and pains.  All you see all around you are problems and things that annoy you.  You know your emotions are on edge and any little thing going wrong could make you really angry.  You drop the milk so you yell at your partner for putting it in the wrong place in the fridge.  There is no fun or joy in your day, your main aim is just to survive the day.

Now contrast that to waking up in the morning after a great night sleep, you are full of energy and can't wait to see what adventures your day will bring.  You look at your partner and notice how wonderful they are, you have a great breakfast and your body is full of energy, your mind is relaxed and you know it's going to be a fabulous day.

The main difference here is that you feel fresh and relaxed, and you know that when you feel that way everything around you just flows and life is much more fun and interesting.  You are much nicer to be around and your relationships with everyone from your partner to bus boy will be on a higher level.

 Stress Management

It's not what happens to us in life that causes us stress but how we respond to what has happened.  Our mind did not come with an instruction book and we are left to figure out how to respond to situations by watching those around us.  SO often this leaves us in a state of reacting to stimulation around us.  If someone cuts us off in traffic we react by yelling and getting upset, if someone insults us we react by getting angry.  This leaves us at the mercy of others and life.  But there is another way, a simpler way and a calmer way where you get to be in choice about how you want to respond to life.  Doesn't that sound like a better way to live?  If so click here and find out more

Self -Confidence and Self Esteem

Anxiety and stress are often the result of low self-esteem, when we don't feel good about ourselves little hick-ups in life can really get us down.  We can be overly concerned by what others think about us and take other people's opinions to heart.  When our self-esteem is healthy we can easily listen to what others have to say about us and other subjects and decide for ourselves what is true for us.  When we become our own authority we become calmer and less reactive to what life throws our way.

The Centre for Personal Reinvention has a wonderful ebook, I used it myself last year to clear up a long term self-esteem issue going back to childhood that I had not been able to shift with many techniques that I tried.
